Inaugural Ceremony of Warangal District Badminton Tournament-2025 for Boys, Girls, Men and Women held at Indoor Stadium, KITS Warangal Campus
The Warangal District Badminton Association (WDBA) affiliated to Badminton Association of Telangana (BAT) is organising the “Warangal District Badminton Tournament for Boys, Girls, Men and Women” during 9th to 11th June, 2025 at Indoor stadium, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) Warangal announced by the Vice president BAT, General Secretary WDBA and Administrative Officer, KITS Warangal Dr. P. Ramesh Reddy.
Today, It is inaugurated by the chief guest, KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
On this occasion the chief guest KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy highlighted that Badminton is the dynamic and healthy sport. It is a highly motivational and enthusiastic game with a few painless rules. The badminton strengthens heart muscles, improves blood circulation and decreases cholesterol level and reduces the risk of heart attacks among the youth. Participation is very important but losing or gaining is not important. Games and sports are integrated strategically, and can significantly benefit students during their studies. They enhance learning, the spirit of winning capabilities and skills, and academic performance by improving focus, problem-solving skills and teamwork.
He concluded that games and sports also provide fun, eradicate the stress and engaging way to learn and explore new concepts, ultimately contributing to a well-rounded education.

On this occasion Vice president BAT, WDBA General Secretary and Administrative Officer, KITS Warangal Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy congratulated the Shourya Kiran won the silver medal at Cyprus Junior International Tournament-2025 and Keerthy Manchala has been selected for Asian Junior Badminton Championship & World Junior badminton championship. There are 26 various games and sports events conducted during these three days. Winners of the tournament will participate in the ensuing state championship to be held at various places across Telangana. The competitions are Under-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 for boys, girls, men and women. A total of 170 players actively participated in the tournament across the combined warangal district.
The President, WDBA, Dr. S. Ramesh kumar gave the presidential remarks during the inaugural ceremony. He has applauded the badminton players of Warangal for getting name and fame by winning medals at state, national and international tournaments. Games and sports are the need of the hour for the present education system and it is leading to building a healthy society.
In this program, WDBA treasurer, D. Nagakishan, Vice president, WDBA, Dr. N. Mohan Rao, WDBA members such as KITSW, Head, Physical Education, Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy, G. Kishore, Bhaskar, Krishnaveni, M. Shailaja, Associate professor of Chemistry, Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, 170 players and their parents, faculty and staff were present
