మహారాష్ట్రలోని Chandrapur జిల్లా సిందేవాహి తహసీల్లోని గుంజేవాహి అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో మే 22, 2026 ఉదయం పులి దాడిలో నలుగురు మహిళలు మృతి చెందారు.
తునికిఆకులు సేకరించేందుకు స్థానిక మహిళల బృందం అడవిలోకి వెళ్లింది. అటవీ విభాగం కంపార్ట్మెంట్ నంబర్ 1836 ప్రాంతంలో ఈ ఘటన జరిగింది.
మృతులను కవ్దుబాయి దాదాజీ మొహుర్లే (45), అనుబాయి దాదాజీ మొహుర్లే (46), సంగీత సంతోష్ చౌదరి (36), సునీత కౌశిక్ మొహుర్లే (33)గా గుర్తించారు.
అధికారుల సమాచారం ప్రకారం, మహిళలు తునికి ఆకులు సేకరిస్తుండగా ఒక్కసారిగా పులి దాడి చేసింది. మరో ముగ్గురు మహిళలు అడవి నుంచి బయటపడి గ్రామస్తులకు సమాచారం ఇచ్చారు. అయితే మిగిలిన నలుగురు మహిళలు పులి దాడిలో ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు.
ఈ ఘటనతో గ్రామస్థుల్లో భయం మరియు ఆగ్రహం నెలకొంది. స్థానిక ప్రజల్లో చాలామంది అటవీ ఉత్పత్తులపై ఆధారపడి జీవిస్తున్నారు.
సమాచారం అందుకున్న వెంటనే అటవీ శాఖ మరియు పోలీసులు ఘటనాస్థలికి చేరుకున్నారు. బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు తక్షణ సహాయంగా రూ.25 వేల చొప్పున ప్రకటించారు.
